    Police Chief:  Chris Sovik

Members of the South Lyon Police Department provide community oriented policing service to more than 11,000 residents, as well as to those who visit or pass through our community. The department is currently staffed with 16 full time officers, 1 full time clerk and 2 cadets. The department also employs 5 school crossing guards.

When you dial 911 or the non-emergency number, your call is automatically routed to a central dispatch facility. Dispatch and prisoner lock-up services are provided through a contractual agreement with the City of Novi. This saves South Lyon officers many hours of travel time that would be required to lodge prisoners in the Oakland County Jail, which is located in Pontiac.
