You might not have to travel all the way to Mackinac this year to join the annual Labor Day Bridge Walk because a Labor Day Community Walk will be held in South Lyon to help “Get Michigan Moving.”
South Lyon is organizing a Community Bridge Walk on Labor Day, Monday September 6, at 9:00 a.m. in McHattie Park as part of the Labor Day Community Walks that are held throughout the state in conjunction with the Mackinac Bridge Labor Day Walk. Similar to the way the Mighty Mac links Michigan’s two peninsulas, the Labor Day Walks link communities together for health, fitness and active living. Participation in this event is FREE!
Walkers will meet at near the parking lot on the north side of McHattie Park (near the pavillion and the tot lot). Participants will have the option to do a 2.5 mile route or a full 5 mile route.
This event is sponsored and organized by the City of South Lyon Parks and Recreation Commission. For the safety and comfort of other walkers, the organizers respectfully asks that you leave you do not bring pets with you to this event.
Registration for this event has closed. However, all are welcome to attend. There is no need to register - simply show up and join the walk! |
