South Lyon Area Historical Society

The City of South Lyon is very fortunate to have a group of dedicated volunteers, intent on preserving the history of this area.

Headquartered in the historic Witch's Hat Depot, the South Lyon Area Historical Society's purpose is to bring together those people interested in history, and especially the history of this community. The Society also coordinates the use of the historic buildings located in McHattie Park including tours of the Witch's Hat Depot and Freight House as well tours and use of the Washburn School for special projects.

The Little Village Chapel, a 1930's era "kit building" is the most recent addition the Historic Village and is available to rent for weddings and other special occasions.
