The South Lyon Historical Commission works to preserve the history of South Lyon by collecting materials, including books, pamphlets, maps charts, manuscripts, paintings, pioneer narratives, photographs and other artifacts associated with the settlement of the South Lyon area. The Historical Commission also assists and cooperates with other Michigan historical societies to gather historical material pertaining to the South Lyon area and its early pioneers.
The Historical Commission meets the 1st Thursday of the month at 7:30 p.m. at the Witch's Hat Museum.
